BARS-2 Has Developed a New Slip Agent for Films
Scientific and Production Company BARS-2 has developed and is now offering to PO film manufacturers a new permanent slip additive masterbatch BASCO® PF0013/51-LP, which reduces the friction coefficient of the film surface.
The masterbatch is based on linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) with silicone as the main active ingredient. Unlike conventional migrating slip additives (erucamide and oleamide), this additive does not migrate to the surface of the film but is distributed throughout the entire mass of the product. The slip effect of the film is immediate, independent of time and lasts for the entire service life of the product.
New BASCO® PF0013/51-LP permanent slip additive masterbatch produced by BARS-2 reduces the surface friction coefficient of polyolefin films.
BASCO® PF0013/51-LP has a bulk density of 0.5 g/cm3 and a melt flow rate of 3.5 g/10 min (2.16/190) with 10% of an active ingredient. The recommended input is 2-5%. For example, the static friction coefficient for LDPE film at 2% dosing is 0.35-0.45.
It is noted that BASCO® PF0013/51-LP non-migrating slip additive masterbatch maintains its properties even at ambient temperatures and humidity levels where traditional slip agents lose their properties. The masterbatch is recommended for a wide range of injection molded and extruded products.
